Let the Hogwarts Projects Begin!

Hey everyone!

It has certainly been awhile since I posted here! After much consideration I have decided to start using this blog on a daily/ weekly basis. So now that you all know that lets get right down to business with what I am working on.

This past spring I picked up this cute little cardboard castle at The Museum of Miniature Houses and other Collections attic sale. Every year this local miniature museum hosts this sale as a way to clear out miniatures that are either not up to museum quality or are just too large for the already massive collection.

As soon as I saw this piece I knew exactly what it would become. With a few coats of pink paint and some highly victorian furniture I will be transforming this tiny castle room box into the office of Professor Umbridge from "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".

I have already selected some absolutely horrendous furniture for this room. Being so accustomed to midcentury modern and contemporary furniture has me turning my nose up at this ornate dark wood. I am pushing through it to make this magical world come to life. While I am only in the beginning states of this project I do have a small item to share with you from my collection.

Miniature from Nightfall Miniatures

This miniature is a recreation of one of the proclamations that were made by umbridge during her time at Hogwarts. Each rule is stamped by the ministry of magic and framed for all of Hogwarts to see. This will hang just outside umbridges office.

There is still so much to do and create and I really cannot wait to see where this goes.

I will eventually be adding a Divination room to this Hogwarts collection. So stay tuned for many more magical additions to my collection.
